The 46″ wide cutting deck really saves you time when mowing larger lawns and the 12 different cutting heights allow you to get the best finish.

The Kohler engine is built for reliability and power, and the hydrostatic transmission combined with the cruise control feature give you an incredibly smooth and consistent cut whatever the terrain and mowing conditions.

This mower is also really easy to steer and maneuver plus it’s also very comfortable to operate.

You also get a large fuel tank for extended periods of mowing without constant refueling, plus it’s also easy to add gas without having to lift the bonnet.

And once you’re done mowing, cleaning the underside and cutting deck is really easy with the integrated deck wash system.

The only real downside we can find with this mower is that it doesn’t mow all that quickly in reverse, in fact it’s pretty slow.

Additionally, due to its compact size, the LT42 is also a great choice of mower for smaller yards.

This mower has a powerful Kohler engine that’s tough enough for mowing even the toughest grass on the roughest terrain. The hydrostatic transmission makes mowing nice and smooth without any gear shifting and the deck is a pretty decent size too, and gives a really great cut time after time.

As for using the mower, it’s really easy to steer, and that includes mowing inclines, plus it’s comfortable to use too thanks to a really well designed and well padded adjustable seat. It’s also super easy to clean after mowing, in fact it’s a pretty low maintenance mower all round.

Value-wise we find this mower to be very reasonably priced. It has a strong and well made frame that’s designed to last you years, it can mow fairly large areas quickly, saving you time, and it gives a neat and professional looking cut even on difficult to mow lawns.

The only downside we have come across with this mower is that there have been some reported problems with the deck wash hose adapter leaking, however this is hardly a deal breaker and easily replaced.

We like the Husqvarna Z254 zero turn ride on mower for a number of reasons, and if you have a pretty good sized lawn to take care of we think you will too.

First off, it really does start up first turn of the key every time, and it’s got the power and the speed to get the job done really quick, while giving a fantastic and professional looking cut too. It powers through long, tough grass, even when it’s wet, without making a big song and dance about it.

It’s also easy to get used to, and once you have it’s easy and comfortable to use. The seat is great, it’s a 15″ high-back seat which gives you great back support, even when you’re mowing rougher ground at top speed.

This is a really solidly built riding mower with a brilliant engine and deck and should give you many years of quality mowing.

Even though the zero turn feature of this mower does let you mow in and out of hard to reach spots, we wouldn’t recommend this mower if you have a smaller lawn or yard as it is quite a big machine.

Another thing we should mention is that although this mower is pretty good for mowing hills and inclines, it does seem to handle some hills better than others, although this is something that we feel could probably be overcome with practice.

We like this mower. It’s easy and good to use. It does a great job. It’s tough and reliable and well worth checking out if you have a larger sized lawn.

As you have probably noticed in the overview of the features above, the Husqvarna YTA24V48 Riding Tractor Mower features a pedal operated automatic transmission which does away with the need for a clutch, and the need for shifting gears altogether.

Unlike hydrostatic transmissions which use hydraulic fluids for power transfer, automatic transmissions use belts to automatically adjust speed according to demand, providing smooth and seamless acceleration and power.

The automatic choke on this riding mower makes starting up really easy. All you need to do is turn the key and it fires up first time, that’s it…you’re away.

Another feature of this lawn tractor mower that we think really makes a difference is the Air-Induction Mowing Technology. This sucks air from the top, and the bottom of the cutting deck. The result of this is that grass-lift is significantly improved which in turn delivers a far superior cut than you will get with a mower that doesn’t have it.

The deck cutting height adjustment lever is mounted on the fender making it really easy to adjust the blade height without getting out of your seat, plus it’s also spring assisted allowing you to change between the 6 different cutting heights effortlessly.

The 48″ cutting deck also has 4 anti-scalp wheels to help prevent any unsightly bald patches occurring on any high spots your lawn may have, and the 3 cutting blades have greaseable mandrels, and is also covered by a 10 year warranty.

On the whole the Husqvarna YTA24V48 is a pretty comfortable riding mower to use. It has a really comfortable 15″ high-back seat, complete with armrests, and the cruise control is a pretty cool feature too. It also runs well and is pretty good on gas making mowing that little bit more economical.

If you have a larger sized lawn or yard that is hilly in places and you’re in the market for a reliable entry level lawn tractor mower with a decent size cutting deck we recommend checking out the Husqvarna YTA24V48 riding tractor mower.

This mower is consistently easy to start up, it runs very well and it’s also pretty comfortable to ride…And it gives a really neat and professional looking cut too and makes short work of cutting large areas.

The only thing we found, and which you may wish to keep in mind is that although it mows smaller hills very well, it’s not brilliant on really steep hills. This could be just one of those occasions where practice makes perfect but we believe it to be worth mentioning.

It is also covered by a 3 year limited warranty, a 5 year front axle, frame and chassis warranty, and a 10 year cutting deck warranty.

The bottom line…we think this mower is well worth checking out…just make sure you buy it for the work it has been designed for and be careful on hilly ground.
