We should point out right at the start of this review that once your Husqvarna MZ61 ZTR is delivered, uncrating and assembling it can be a bit of a nightmare due to the packaging and the size and weight of the thing, but once you have it all set up, it’s well worth the hassle.
Once you have familiarized yourself with the highly specific starting sequence for the MZ61 riding mower, you WILL need to consult the manual on this, you’ll find it starts up easily,quickly, smoothly and reliably, and boy does this thing have some power!
The 24 HP/726 CC Kawasaki FR730V engine is both incredible efficient, and economic, while being smooth, durable, and pretty quiet during use. It has a top forward speed of 8.5 mph which allows you to mow larger areas in less time than you could with it’s leading competitors.
The fabricated 11″ gauge steel, triple blade cutting deck on this beast gives a massive 61″ cutting width and has 12 different cutting heights ranging from 1.5″ minimum, to 4.5″ maximum, and which is operated easily via the easy to reach, pedal assisted controls, without having to leave the seat
And as big as this zero turn mower is, the Zero Turn feature allows it to literally turn on a dime. The speed and maneuverability you get from the MZ61 is pretty awesome to say the least, and it does it all without sacrificing cut quality, or riding comfort.
The seat is a 15″ high back sliding seat which features thick padded cushions and elastometric vibration control, (EVC), plus padded armrests which make for probably the most comfortable ride you’re ever likely to get from a riding lawn tractor.
And in the unlikely event the mower should roll over while you’re mowing, the Husqvarna MZ61 ZTR mower also features a Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS), which mounts directly onto the mowers chassis, and includes a safety belt, to reduce the risk of accidental injury.
There is also a removable foot pan which allows easy access to the deck belt pulleys and spindles for hassle free cleaning and maintenance. There are also 6″ wide front castor wheels with air filled tires for durability without chewing up your turf, while the oversized 2″ X 3″ tube chassis works really well in conjunction with the large front and rear tires for improved strength and ride quality.
This zero turn mower has all the capability to handle both residential and light commercial lawn maintenance and can comfortably and professionally mow up to 4.2 acres per hour at speeds of up to 8.5 mph, without sacrificing rider comfort or safety. This one is well worth checking out.
