As with the Crafstman T135 which we reviewed previously, once your T150 lawn tractor is delivered, you will need to install the steering wheel and the seat, which are both really easy to do, put some gas in the tank, and you’re all ready to mow.
The Craftsman T150 is like a bigger and stronger, more powerful version of the smaller T135. Its heavy duty construction and wide base cutting deck make it really durable and give added stability when in use, and the 19 HP Briggs & Stratton Gold gas engine is easily powerful enough to handle larger yards and landscapes. The engine also features ‘Readystart Technology’ for first turn of the key, quick and efficient starting every time, with no prime or choke required.
The hydrostatic transmission on this Craftsman lawn tractor mower is hand controlled via a fender lever and allows you to mow through a wide range of speeds, with a top speed of 5.5 mph, without having to change up and down through a set of gears, making for a smoother and easier ride.
The chunky 15″ X 6″ front wheels, and 20″ X 8″ rear wheels give adequate ground clearance and maneuverability around lumps and bumps and are also durable enough to provide great traction on just about any terrain without chewing up your lawn.
This Craftsman lawn tractor also features a reinforced stamped steel 46″ wide cutting deck meaning it can cover much more ground on a single pass than other ride on mowers allowing you to finish cutting larger landscapes in less time, and it goes through heavy clump grass like a hot knife through butter!.
The cutting deck has 5 adjustable positions with a maximum cutting height of 3.75 inches, and a minimum cutting height of 1.5 inches, plus it also features 2 cutting blades and 2 anti-scalp/deck wheels,and provides a neat, uniform cut to your lawn for a professional well groomed look.
To get in and out of difficult spots easily, the T150 also mows in reverse, and has a deck wash facility for easy cleaning of the cutting area after mowing, and is also front and rear attachment compatible for trailers and the like, and also bagger and mulcher compatible, although bagging and mulching kits are not included with the mower and so need to be purchased separately.
As for what the Craftsman T150 is like to ride, it’s actually surprisingly comfortable. The mid-back seat gives good lower back support and makes the mower suitable for users of different heights.
