As you will have noticed above, the Troy-Bilt Mustang 54 gets its power from a 25 HP Briggs & Stratton Intek Twin Cylinder Engine which has ReadyStart technology meaning it starts up easily, first time, every time without the need for you to prime or choke the engine. It also has a full pressure lubrication system along with an advanced debris management system which extend the engines life by deflecting and ejecting any grass and other debris.
The Troy-Bilt Mustang Zero Turn also has a dual-hydrostatic transmission which gives you a surprisingly smooth ride, even if your yard has hills in it, when mowing forward and in reverse. All you have to do is concentrate on the steering which shortens your mowing time, and reduces fuel consumption making it pretty economical too.
This ride on mower also has 4 deck-gauge, or anti-scalp wheels which stop the cutting deck coming into contact with your lawn when mowing over lumps and bumps in the ground and slicing off huge chunks of grass, plus a rear deck roller which does a pretty decent job of making the whole cutting deck more stable during mowing for a neater and more efficient cut.
The cutting deck itself on the Troy-Bilt Mustang is a very generous 54″ which does a brilliant job of allowing you to get more done in less time. The deck also features a triple-blade cutting system with 8 adjustable cutting heights, along with a side discharge chute and electric power take-off which allows the blades to be engaged quickly and easily.
There is also a deck-wash port which makes cleaning any debris and clippings from the cutting edges and the underside of the deck after mowing quick and easy to do.
For your riding comfort, this mower has a pretty comfortable high-back padded seat which has dual suspension springs, and which gives good back support during longer mowing sessions even at the mowers top forward mowing speed of 7 mph, and the 2.5 mph reverse mowing speed. You also get Reverse Mow Control as standard, and which is a required safety feature on all new riding mowers.
The Troy-Bilt Mustang also features a floating front axle which acts to accommodate any lumps and bumps in the terrain for a smoother and more comfortable mowing session and a more even cut, and you can also easily check the mowers remaining fuel level at a glance via the gas tanks fuel site gauge.
