The engine in this particular zero turn mower is a 19 HP/660 cc Kohler 6600 V-Twin engine, which gives you professional grade power with ConsistentCut™ to keep you cutting, even in tall, wet grass. It also uses pressure lubrication to keep all its critical components well lubricated for extended engine life, and starts up super easy at a turn of the key thanks to its SmartChoke™ technology.
This mower also features a foot-operated deck lift system, which allows you raise and lower the cutting deck without having to take your hands off the steering levers, and to select any of the 7 different cutting heights from 1.5″ to 4.5″ via the selector lever, regardless of whether you happen to be mowing forwards or in reverse.
And speaking of steering, being a zero turn mower, the Zoom 42 also turns on a dime allowing you to get in and out of any hard to mow spots quickly, easily, and efficiently, and the Hydrostatic transmission delivers a forward mowing speed of up to 6 mph, and a reverse mowing speed of up to 3 mph, without the hassle of manual gear changes.
For your riding comfort during mowing, the Ariens Zoom 42 also features a lever adjustable 18″ high-back seat with seat springs. You really will notice the difference in comfort and back support with this seat especially when mowing uneven ground, or when mowing for a relatively long time.
The blades and underside of this mower can be easily and thoroughly cleaned after mowing by hooking up a regular garden hose to the deck wash out port and spraying away any dirt and debris.
