The Craftsman T135 riding lawn mower is delivered 99% ready-to-mow right out of the box. All you need to do is fit the steering wheel into the steering column and tighten up the bolt, clip the seat into place, and fill the 1.3 gallon tank with gas.
The T135’s engine is a powerful 18.5 horesepower Briggs and Stratton featuring ‘Ready Start’ technology, and gives reliable starting, first turn of the key, without you having to prime or choke the engine, and can handle large landscapes easily. It has a top speed of 5 mph, and CVT transmission which gives a smoother ride and improved fuel efficiency.
The 46″ cutting deck is adept at clipping, trimming, and the full on cutting of grass on the first pass, saving you time going over the same area repeatedly, it has an impressive 18″ turning radius for getting in and out of tight spots and and this machine can also mow in reverse adding to it’s already pretty impressive maneuverability.
The blades can also be raised and lowered as required using the lift lever on the right hand side of the mower, and there is also a deck wash for quick and easy cleaning by simply attaching a garden hose to prevent the mower from getting clogged up by removing any accumulated dirt, debris and plant matter.
The Craftsman T135 also features 15″ front wheels, and 20″ rear wheels which give pretty decent traction as well as good clearance over bumps and uneven ground, and the lumbar supporting, mid-back seat and spring suspension system, along with the automatic transmission system, provide a smooth and comfortable ride even at full speed on uneven ground.
The only niggles we have with this Craftsman lawn tractor is with the foot pedal, which seems to stiffen up slightly every now and then, having said that, it does sort itself out too so no real drama there, and the fact that you need to buy a separate kit for mulching.
On the whole we found the Craftsman T135 to be a pretty decent ride on lawn mower, at an equally decent price. It gets the job done nicely giving a consistent and even cut, it’s easy to use and maintain, and it’s a smooth and comfortable ride too.
